Compare kitchen cabinet materials by the parts that matter in a finished installation: the cabinet body, surface protection, fasteners, wet-zone details, finish and access for future service. These guides explain the questions to ask before choosing a material for a Hyderabad home. They are decision aids, not substitute specifications or a quotation.
Start with the material pair you are considering
- Stainless steel vs GI kitchen cabinets — compare SS304 for wet zones with GI for suitable dry storage.
- Aluminium vs GI kitchen cabinets — compare cabinet construction and finish for dry storage.
- Stainless steel vs aluminium kitchens — compare two corrosion-resistant metal systems.
- Metal vs WPC kitchens — examine moisture, spans and fastening.
- Metal vs HDHMR kitchens — compare construction around wet areas and hardware.
- Aluminium vs PVC kitchens — assess cabinet bodies and serviceability.
- Do steel kitchen cabinets rust? — understand SS304, galvanized steel and aluminium in wet zones.
Compare complete cabinet systems
A material label does not tell you the alloy or steel grade, sheet thickness, profile, coating, edge treatment, hinge fixing or the construction of a sink base. Two quotations may use the same material name while specifying different cabinet bodies and shutters. Ask each supplier for a room-by-room material schedule and a drawing that identifies base, overhead, tall and loft units. Note the hardware series, finishes, accessories, transport and installation scope separately.
In a kitchen, inspect a finished module: open a wide shutter, operate a loaded drawer, look at the underside of the sink base and find the plumbing service access. Compare how the cabinet will be cleaned and how a single damaged part would be replaced. For a fair comparison, assess wet and dry zones separately and obtain physical finish samples under the room’s actual light. Metal & More does not recommend GI for counters or water-use areas.
Move from research to a room-specific brief
Use the 3D Finish Studio to shortlist colours and surfaces, and the instant estimator for a preliminary budget discussion. For a measured kitchen specification, see the modular kitchen service and request an itemised proposal. Final material choices depend on site measurements, appliances, plumbing, hardware and the written scope.
